Website FAQs

  • What will my site look like?

During the planning process, I will ask you about your intended audience, the image you wish to project, the type and scope of the content, what design styles appeal to you, and other relevant information. All this information helps inform the design that I will submit for your approval. If your company or organization does not have a logo, I am available for logo design as well.

  • Who is responsible for the content?

You will be expected to provide content before the design is finalized, since content plays an important role in driving site design. However, I have experience in writing and editing and can provide guidance in these areas if needed.

  • What about web hosting? How do I get a domain name?

I provide web hosting for my clients. I will also obtain a domain name for you if you do not already have one.

  • How much will my website cost?

That depends on the number of pages and features the website will have and on any additional services provided, such as logo design. Websites can be as simple as a single page, or they can be quite extensive, in some cases requiring online databases of products, client names, etc. I'll gladly discuss your needs with you and work up a quote, or perhaps several quotes based on different scenarios.

  • What about site maintenance?

Clients pay a modest annual maintenance fee, which covers web hosting and domain name renewal. In addition, the annual fee covers minor updates to content and any troubleshooting should the need arise. In time, many clients opt to update by adding more features or making other significant changes to their site; work of this nature is billed by the hour.
